Arjuna’s Mantra-Empowerment and the Pāṇḍavas’ Separation (Śiva-rūpa through Mantra)
पुनस्ते च विचार्यैवं कथनीयं बिडौजसे । इत्युक्त्वा तु गतास्ते वै शक्रस्यान्तिकमञ्जसा
punaste ca vicāryaivaṃ kathanīyaṃ biḍaujase | ityuktvā tu gatāste vai śakrasyāntikamañjasā

Tattva Level: pashu
Sthala Purana: A narrative transition: witnesses decide to report the uncanny radiance to Indra (Biḍaujas/Śakra). No Jyotirliṅga localization is indicated.
Significance: Illustrates the epistemic pattern in Purāṇic theophanies: confusion → consultation with higher authority; in Siddhānta terms, paśu seeks guidance when confronted with the Lord’s veiling brilliance.
It highlights discernment and right action: after recognizing an extraordinary divine situation, the devas’ agents promptly report to Indra—showing that cosmic order responds to Shiva’s manifestations with alertness, humility, and accountability.
Though it is a narrative verse, it supports Saguna Shiva devotion by depicting how even the gods must acknowledge and respond to Shiva’s palpable, manifest power (Rudra-tattva), which devotees approach through forms like the Linga.
The takeaway is prompt remembrance and reporting inwardly to the higher Lord: in practice, one can respond to intense experiences by steady japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and reaffirming surrender to Shiva as Pati.
