तदभिज्ञानमादाय निवृत्तो रामसन्निधिम् । रावणाऽऽराममाहत्य जघान बहुराक्षसान्

In Shaiva understanding, subduing rākṣasic tendencies symbolizes overcoming inner bondage (pāśa) that blocks the soul’s alignment with the Divine.
Though the verse is narrative, it supports Saguna devotion by portraying divine order restoring balance in the world. In Shaiva Purana framing, such episodes reinforce faith that the Lord’s grace works through righteous agents—encouraging devotees to take refuge in Shiva’s protective power expressed in concrete, approachable forms.
The practical takeaway is steadiness in purpose and remembrance of the Divine while confronting obstacles; a fitting practice is japa of the Panchakshara mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") for inner strength and purification before undertaking difficult duties.
