शिवशङ्खचूडयुद्धवर्णनम् / Description of the Battle between Śiva and Śaṅkhacūḍa
तं प्रणम्य तु योगेन विमानमारुरोह सः । तूर्णं चकार सन्नाहं धनुर्जग्राह सेषुकम्
taṃ praṇamya tu yogena vimānamāruroha saḥ | tūrṇaṃ cakāra sannāhaṃ dhanurjagrāha seṣukam
ఆయనకు నమస్కరించి, యోగబలంతో అతడు విమానమును అధిరోహించాడు. వెంటనే కవచం ధరించి, తూణీరంతో కూడిన ధనుస్సును పట్టుకున్నాడు.

The verse highlights a Shaiva ideal: first humility and surrender (pranāma), then yogic steadiness and swift dharmic action. Even in conflict, the inner orientation begins with reverence, aligning the will with higher order rather than ego.
Though the verse is martial in tone, it reflects Saguna devotion in practice—bowing first to the revered divine presence (often understood in the Purana as Shiva’s grace operating through the narrative). The outer act of salutation mirrors the devotee’s approach to the Linga: reverence first, then disciplined engagement with one’s duties.
A practical takeaway is to begin any intense undertaking with pranāma and centering—mentally offering the act to Shiva while stabilizing the mind through yoga (breath, mantra-recollection). If used devotionally, one may precede action with a brief japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to align intention.
