मत्वाखिलं मदधीनमस्वतन्त्रं निजं च वै । स सुदामाऽभवद्राधाशापतो दानवेश्वरः
matvākhilaṃ madadhīnamasvatantraṃ nijaṃ ca vai | sa sudāmā'bhavadrādhāśāpato dānaveśvaraḥ
‘ఇదంతా నా అధీనమే, స్వతంత్రం కాదు, నిజంగా నాదే’ అని భావించి, రాధా శాపవశాత్తు అతడు సుదాముడై దానవులలో అధీశ్వరుడయ్యెను.

It warns that ahankāra (ego)—the belief that the world is “mine” and under “my control”—binds the soul in pasha (bondage) and precipitates karmic consequence, here shown as a fall into a demonic lordship.
By contrast to the ego’s claim of ownership, Linga-worship trains surrender to Pati (Shiva) as the true Lord; devotion to Saguna Shiva purifies possessiveness and restores right relationship between pashu (soul) and Pati.
Practice japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with humility, offering the sense of doership and ownership into Shiva (īśvara-arpaṇa-buddhi), optionally alongside Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) as a reminder of impermanence.
