This is a concluding colophon marking the completion of a chapter; spiritually, it frames the narrative as śāstra—an authoritative account where events like Śaṃkhacūḍa’s origin unfold under Śiva’s supreme governance (Pati) and the moral law of karma binding beings (paśu) through bonds (pāśa).
Though it is not a direct instruction on Linga worship, it situates the story within the Śiva Mahāpurāṇa where Saguna Śiva’s protective and regulating role is central—devotees contemplate Śiva as the Lord who oversees cosmic order, even when adversarial beings arise.
As a chapter-ending marker, it suggests a natural pause for svādhyāya (scriptural recitation) and remembrance of Śiva—concluding with mental japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) or a brief salutation to the Śiva-liṅga before proceeding.
