संध्याचरित्रवर्णनम् (Sandhyā-caritra-varṇana) — “Account of Sandhyā’s Story”
एतन्मे श्रोष्यमाणाय विस्तरेण पितामह । कौतूहलमरुंधत्याश्चरितं ब्रूहि तत्त्वतः
etanme śroṣyamāṇāya vistareṇa pitāmaha | kautūhalamaruṃdhatyāścaritaṃ brūhi tattvataḥ
హే పితామహా! నేను వినుటకు ఉత్సుకుడను; కౌతూహలకరమైన అరుంధతీ యొక్క ఆశ్చర్య చరిత్రను తత్త్వప్రకారం విస్తరించి చెప్పుము।
Narada (addressing Brahma as Pitamaha)
Tattva Level: pashu
The verse highlights śravaṇa (reverent listening) and tattvataḥ—seeking the truth-principle behind sacred stories. In Shaiva tradition, such attentive hearing purifies the mind and prepares one for devotion to Pati (Śiva) and right understanding of dharma.
Although the Linga is not named here, the Purana’s method is shown: devotees approach realized authorities (like Brahmā) to hear leelās and exemplary accounts that cultivate bhakti toward Saguna Śiva and strengthen faith in ritual and moral disciplines that support Linga-worship.
The implied practice is śravaṇa—listening to Śiva Purāṇa kathā with curiosity and sincerity. As a takeaway, one may pair such listening with japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to internalize the teaching.
