Satī Inquires about the Departure for Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
satyuvāca | he sakhīpravare prāṇapriye tvaṃ vijaye mama | kva gamiṣyati candroyaṃ rohiṇyāpṛcchya satvaram

The verse highlights attentive discernment and right inquiry (vicāra) in dharmic action—Satī seeks clarity about the Moon’s movement, implying that even in devotional life one should act with awareness of cosmic order rather than impulse.
Though the verse is narrative, it supports Saguna Shiva devotion by portraying the Purana’s lived world where celestial forces move under divine governance; such ordered reality becomes a backdrop for ritual timing and faithful worship offered to Lord Shiva in form (saguna) for grace (anugraha).
A practical takeaway is mindful observance of auspicious timing (muhūrta) and disciplined inquiry before undertaking vrata or pūjā; one may pair this with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to steady intention and align action with devotion.
