Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pashu
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
By naming Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa as wise heroes of the Solar line, the Purāṇa frames dharma, courage, and discernment as outward signs of inner purity—qualities that, in Shaiva Siddhānta, support devotion to Pati (Śiva) and the gradual loosening of pāśa (bondage).
The verse occurs in a direct address to Devī, showing Saguna Śiva as the compassionate narrator who teaches through sacred history. Such narration prepares the mind for Linga-worship by grounding devotion in exemplary dharmic lives aligned with divine will.
A practical takeaway is to cultivate prajñā (discernment) and vīrya (steadfastness) while performing daily Shiva-upāsanā—mentally repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with a vow to uphold dharma, as Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa are praised for heroic virtue.
