Viṣṇu’s Manifestation and Brahmā’s Hymn
mahāmūḍhamatiścādya saṃjātosi kathaṃ vidhe | vedavaktāpi nikhilalokakarttā hi durmatiḥ
Lord Shiva (addressing Brahma as Vidhi)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It teaches that even exalted cosmic authorities like Brahmā can be veiled by moha; only Shiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord) dispels ignorance and restores right knowledge leading toward liberation.
The verse underscores Shiva’s supreme lordship and guidance: Saguna Shiva, worshipped in the Linga, is the compassionate revealer of truth who corrects wrong notions and turns the mind toward devotion and discernment.
A practical takeaway is to counter delusion through Shiva-japa (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with humility, and to steady the mind in daily Shiva-upasana so knowledge is not distorted by ego.
