Departure and Lament in Separation

It highlights Pārvatī’s bhakti joined with humility and right conduct—she honors parents and elders even while moving toward her higher Shaiva destiny—while also showing how worldly attachment (bhavācāra) naturally produces grief.
Pārvatī’s reverence and devotion are the inner qualities that mature into Saguna Shiva-upāsanā—approaching Śiva through loving surrender and disciplined conduct, which later supports steady worship of the Liṅga.
The takeaway is bhakti with śuddha-ācāra (pure conduct): begin worship with respectful salutations to elders and teachers, then proceed with focused devotion—ideally supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) as the mind is calmed from emotional agitation.
