maheśvarastadā tatrāgatānāṃ ca pṛthak pṛthak | sarveṣāmamarādyānāṃ satkāraṃ vyadadhānmudā

It highlights Shiva as Pati (the supreme Lord) who nevertheless embodies perfect dharma—offering satkāra with joy—teaching that true greatness expresses itself as reverence, order, and graciousness, which purifies the heart and supports bhakti.
As Saguna Shiva, Maheshvara models divine conduct accessible to devotees: honoring all beings appropriately. Linga-worship is not only ritual but also cultivation of Shiva-like qualities—humility, respect, and loving reception (satkāra) toward devotees and the divine assembly.
Practice “satkāra-bhāva” as a vrata: before japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), offer respectful reception to guests/devotees, then perform simple Shiva-upacharas (water, bilva, bhasma/Tripundra) with a joyful, non-hurried mind.
