The Episode of Anaraṇya’s Daughter and Sage Pippalāda
yattatsarvaṃ kṛtaṃ brahman nāparādho babhūva me | tvañca śapto mayā'jñānātstrīsvabhā vādvṛthā vṛṣa

The verse highlights that wrongdoing is rooted in ajñāna (ignorance) and is healed through humility and truthful confession—key Shaiva Siddhanta virtues that purify the pashu (individual soul) and restore alignment with Pati (Śiva).
By acknowledging error and seeking reconciliation, the devotee approaches Saguna Śiva with softened ego; Linga-worship is traditionally accompanied by repentance, surrender, and a return to dharma—inner attitudes that make ritual devotion spiritually fruitful.
A practical takeaway is prāyaścitta through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a repentant mind, followed by simple Śiva-pūjā (water/abhisheka) and a resolve to act without rashness born of ignorance.
