देवस्तुतिः (Deva-stuti) — “Hymn of the Devas / Divine Praise”
गायत्री त्वं वेदमाता त्वं सावित्री सरस्वती
gāyatrī tvaṃ vedamātā tvaṃ sāvitrī sarasvatī
నీవే గాయత్రీ, నీవే వేదమాత; నీవే సావిత్రి, నీవే సరస్వతి—పవిత్ర వాక్కు, జ్ఞానశక్తి స్వరూపిణి।
A devotee/narratorial voice within the Pārvatīkhaṇḍa (praise addressed to Devī Pārvatī as Śakti)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Identifying Devī as Veda-mātā frames pilgrimage and worship as entry into śabda-brahman leading beyond tirodhāna (ignorance) toward anugraha through right knowledge.
Type: gayatri
Shakti Form: Sarasvatī
Role: teaching
The verse identifies Devī (here understood as Pārvatī/Śakti) with the highest Vedic powers—Gāyatrī, Sāvitrī, and Sarasvatī—teaching that sacred knowledge, mantra, and liberating insight arise through Śiva’s Śakti, the Mother of the Vedas.
In Śaiva tradition, Linga-worship is complete when united with Śakti: this verse frames mantra (Gāyatrī/Sāvitrī) and Vedic wisdom (Sarasvatī) as Śakti’s presence, supporting Saguna worship where Śiva is adored with mantra, stotra, and right understanding.
A practical takeaway is mantra-japa with purity of speech and intention—reciting Gāyatrī or Śiva’s Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) while contemplating Devī as Veda-mātā, the inner power that makes mantra fruitful.
