दशशैवव्रतप्रश्नः — Inquiry into the Ten Principal Śaiva Vratas

प्रथमे चैव यामे च स्थापितं पार्थिवं हरे । पूजयेत्परया भक्त्या सूपचारैरनेकशः

Sthala Purana: This is vrata-vidhi for a temporary, devotee-made pārthiva-liṅga rather than a fixed sthala-liṅga; hence no specific Jyotirliṅga origin is invoked.

Significance: Pārthiva-liṅga pūjā on Śivarātri is treated as highly efficacious: accessible to householders, it concentrates devotion and ritual purity, and is said to yield swift śiva-prasāda.
