The verse highlights a structured fourfold classification (yellow, white, red, black), suggesting that Shiva’s worship and yogic symbolism often uses ordered categories to guide the devotee from outer discipline toward inner purity and liberation (moksha) under Pati (Shiva).
In Saguna Shiva worship, ordered features such as colors, materials, or ritual divisions are used to focus the mind (bhakti with discipline). Such classifications support steadiness in Linga-upasana, where form-based aids lead the devotee toward realizing Shiva as the supreme Pati beyond all forms.
It suggests attentive adherence to prescribed ritual order and symbolic categories (such as color-based groupings) used in Shaiva practice; this complements mantra-japa (e.g., Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and meditative concentration during Linga worship.
