त्रिशिरा-प्रबोधनम् तथा नरान्तक-वधः

द्रुमांश्चविपुलस्कन्थान् गृह्यवानरपुङ्गवाः ।तद्युद्धमभवद्घोरंरक्षोवानरसङ्कुलम् ।।।।
drumāṃś ca vipula-skandhān gṛhya vānara-puṅgavāḥ |
tad yuddham abhavad ghoraṃ rakṣo-vānara-saṅkulam ||
వానరశ్రేష్ఠులు విస్తారమైన కాండాలున్న చెట్లను పట్టుకొని యుద్ధం చేశారు. అప్పుడు ఆ యుద్ధం అత్యంత ఘోరమైంది—రాక్షసులు, వానరులు గుమికూడి నిండిపోయారు॥
