ताराशोकविनोदनम्
Consolation of Tara and Counsel on Succession
गुणदोषकृतं जन्तुस्स्वकर्म फलहेतुकम्।अव्यग्रस्तदवाप्नोति सर्वं प्रेत्य शुभाशुभम्।।
guṇadoṣakṛtaṃ jantuḥ svakarma-phala-hetukam | avyagras tad avāpnoti sarvaṃ pretya śubhāśubham ||
గుణదోషాల వల్ల కలిగిన కర్మఫలాలకు కారణం ఈ జీవుడే; అతడు పరలోకానికి వెళ్లి, కలత లేకుండా, తన కర్మానుసారంగా శుభాశుభ ఫలములన్నిటినీ అనుభవించును।
'Let all the rituals of the king of vanaras be performed. Let Angada be consecrated. You will attain peace of mind to see your son seated on the throne.'
Personal responsibility (karma): one inevitably experiences the results of one’s own deeds, so dharma is to act rightly rather than be overwhelmed by grief.
After Vāli’s fall, Hanumān counsels the grieving Tārā, turning her attention from sorrow to the law of karma and the need for steadiness.
Wisdom and composure: Hanumān models calm ethical reasoning in the face of death.
