जटायुवृत्तान्तः
Jatāyu’s Testimony and Rāma’s Grief
सन्निगृह्य महाबाहुः प्रवृत्तं कोपमात्मनः।अवष्टभ्य धनुश्चित्रं रामो लक्ष्मणमब्रवीत्।।।।
sannigṛhya mahābāhuḥ pravṛttaṃ kopam ātmanaḥ |
avaṣṭabhya dhanuś citraṃ rāmo lakṣmaṇam abravīt ||
తనలో ఉప్పొంగిన కోపమును నియమించి, మహాబాహు రాముడు విచిత్ర ధనుస్సును ఆధారముగా చేసుకొని స్థిరపడి లక్ష్మణునితో పలికెను।
He is Ravana's charioteer slain by my wings in the battle. As I was exhausted in the encounter Ravana clipped my wings, took Sita, and flew into the sky. You need not kill me. I am already slain by the demon.
