గురువు పక్కన దిగువగా కూర్చొని, సంపూర్ణ సమాధానంతో సేవ చేయాలి. గురువు ఆసనం, శయనం లేదా యానంపై ఎప్పుడూ (సమానంగా) కూర్చోకూడదు లేదా ఎక్కకూడదు।

It teaches humility and attentive service: the disciple should sit lower beside the guru and serve with focused mind, avoiding any posture or privilege that implies equality with the guru.
These are symbols of the guru’s authority and honor; refraining from them protects reverence (gurubhakti) and prevents disrespect or familiarity that erodes discipline.
Vinaya (humility) expressed through embodied behavior—how one sits, serves, and refrains—becomes a practical form of dharma in the student–teacher relationship.
