ब्राह्मणेन भवेच्चीर्णं व्रतं द्वादशवार्षिकम् । इतरेषां तु वर्णानां सर्वपापं प्रणश्यति

brāhmaṇena bhaveccīrṇaṃ vrataṃ dvādaśavārṣikam | itareṣāṃ tu varṇānāṃ sarvapāpaṃ praṇaśyati

బ్రాహ్మణుడు ఈ వ్రతాన్ని పన్నెండు సంవత్సరాలు ఆచరించాలి; ఇతర వర్ణాల వారికి అయితే దీనివల్ల సమస్త పాపాలు నశిస్తాయి.
