नारदौवाच । ततो हृष्टमनाः सोऽथ दूतं पप्रच्छ तं पथि । संदेहं हृदि कृत्वा तु विस्मयं परमं गतः । विचारयन्हृदि स्वर्गः कस्य हेतोः फलं मम
nāradauvāca | tato hṛṣṭamanāḥ so'tha dūtaṃ papraccha taṃ pathi | saṃdehaṃ hṛdi kṛtvā tu vismayaṃ paramaṃ gataḥ | vicārayanhṛdi svargaḥ kasya hetoḥ phalaṃ mama
నారదుడు పలికెను—అప్పుడు అతడు హర్షితమనస్సుతో మార్గమధ్యంలో ఆ దూతను ప్రశ్నించాడు; కాని హృదయంలో సందేహం పెట్టుకొని పరమ ఆశ్చర్యానికి లోనయ్యాడు. అంతరంగంలో ఆలోచించాడు—“ఏ కారణముచేత స్వర్గం నాకు ఫలమైంది?”
