FAQs

The verse primarily reports an observed event: a Śūdra performing excellent worship with arghya and related offerings, while the addressed person watched. Any approval or censure depends on the surrounding verses and the speaker’s intent in the broader dialogue.

Arghya is a respectful offering—often water (sometimes with auspicious items)—presented to a deity or honored being as part of formal worship (pūjā).

On its own, it highlights careful observation of religious practice and raises a dharmic question about ritual performance and social categories—inviting the reader to examine intent, propriety, and the ensuing teaching in the surrounding passage.
