वर्षे तु द्वादशेऽतीते दृष्ट्वैतत्परमं तपः । विभाव्य मनसातीव शक्रः पस्पर्ध तं भयात्

varṣe tu dvādaśe'tīte dṛṣṭvaitatparamaṃ tapaḥ | vibhāvya manasātīva śakraḥ paspardha taṃ bhayāt

పన్నెండు సంవత్సరాలు గడిచిన తరువాత ఈ పరమ తపస్సును చూసి శక్రుడు (ఇంద్రుడు) మనసులో గాఢంగా ఆలోచించాడు; భయంతో అతనితో పోటీకి దిగాడు।
