Primary Rasa: vira

Secondary Rasa: raudra

FAQs

They are Viṣṇudūtas—divine attendants of Viṣṇu—often representing the protective power of devotion and divine grace that intervenes when dharma is upheld.

Yama’s messengers (Yamadūtas) symbolize karmic accountability and the consequences of adharma; the verse suggests a tension between strict karmic justice and divine protection, implying that alignment with dharma (and devotion) can invoke higher safeguarding.

It is primarily narrative about cosmic authority and divine jurisdiction, but it indirectly supports Bhakti-oriented themes by portraying Viṣṇu’s agency as superior and protective against forces associated with death and judgment.
