Unspecified in the provided excerpt (context needed from surrounding verses of Brahma-khaṇḍa 4.15)

Concept: Those who fast completely on Prabodhinī Ekādaśī are themselves ‘puṇya-bhāgin’—so spiritually complete that no external compulsion or ‘leading elsewhere’ is needed; their presence brings auspicious delight.

Application: On Prabodhinī Ekādaśī, practice deeper restraint (food, speech, distractions), increase nāma-japa and seva; honor sincere practitioners rather than judging their capacity—support them with respect and facilitation.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"On Prabodhinī Ekādaśī night, a group of fasting devotees sit in a temple courtyard, faces serene, hands on japa-mālās, while a great banner proclaims Nārāyaṇa’s awakening. Their bodies are simple and still, yet an aura of auspicious light surrounds them, and even the air seems to ‘rejoice’—as if the world needs no other guide than their presence.","primary_figures":["fasting Vaiṣṇava devotees","temple priest (optional)","Nārāyaṇa (icon in sanctum, implied awakening)"],"setting":"Temple courtyard with tulasī planter nearby (optional), lamps lining the steps, sanctum doors slightly open as if for ‘prabodhana’ darśana.","lighting_mood":"moonlit","color_palette":["midnight blue","silver moonlight","lamp-gold","holy basil green","white jasmine"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: sanctum with Viṣṇu icon and gold leaf halo; foreground devotees seated in rows with japa-mālās, lamps in ornate brass stands; embossed gold borders with lotus motifs, rich reds/greens, jewel-like highlights emphasizing auspicious aura.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: moonlit courtyard with delicate lamp glows; devotees fasting, calm faces, fine textile patterns; a subtle ‘awakening’ motif at the sanctum door; cool blues and silvers with lyrical trees and temple architecture.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines, stylized devotees in meditative posture; sanctum with Viṣṇu presence; rhythmic rows of lamps; red/yellow/green palette with strong compositional symmetry and mural borders.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: Devotthānī/Prabodhinī theme—central shrine with Viṣṇu, surrounded by concentric lamp patterns and lotus borders; devotees arranged symmetrically; deep blues, gold, intricate floral filigree and peacock accents."}

FAQs

Prabodhinī refers to Prabodhinī Ekādaśī, a major Ekādaśī observance associated with heightened merit through vrata practices such as fasting.

The verse praises nirāhāra—fasting (abstaining from food)—performed especially on Prabodhinī Ekādaśī, presenting such observers as puṇyabhāgin (possessors of merit).

It teaches that sincere self-restraint undertaken on sacred observances elevates a person’s merit and auspiciousness, making them inherently worthy without needing external validation.
