na tatraikādaśī kāryā dharmakāmārthanāśinī | svalpāṃ ca daśamīviddhāṃ tyajedekādaśīṃ budhaḥ
Unspecified (context-dependent within Brahma-khaṇḍa narrative)
Concept: Do not observe Ekādaśī when it is even slightly pierced by Daśamī; such flawed observance is said to destroy dharma, kāma, and artha—therefore the wise abandon it.
Application: When unsure, follow established Vaiṣṇava calendars/ācārya guidance; cultivate humility to ‘let go’ of a planned fast if it is doṣa-yukta.

Sandhi Resolution Notes:
It advises that if Ekādaśī is even slightly overlapped by Daśamī (daśamī-viddhā), the wise should abandon that Ekādaśī observance.
It warns that an improperly timed observance (with tithi impurity/overlap) can become counterproductive, undermining one’s religious merit (dharma) and one’s legitimate aims (kāma and artha).
Ritual discipline includes correct timing and discernment; sincerity should be paired with proper method rather than rigidly performing a vow under inauspicious or invalid conditions.
