Unspecified (addressing a king: rājendra)

Concept: Snāna followed by regular japa—even once daily—leads to a Vaiṣṇava destination (a heaven aligned with Vishnu’s path).

Application: Anchor one fixed daily japa after bathing (morning or evening); if possible, expand to tri-kāla without guilt-based rigidity.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A brāhmaṇa stands waist-deep in calm water at dawn, palms joined, then sits on a clean riverbank cloth with a mala, beginning japa as the sun rises. In the sky, a faint Vaikuṇṭha-like pathway of light suggests the ‘Vaiṣṇava gati’ promised to disciplined reciters.","primary_figures":["a brāhmaṇa sādhaka","Vishnu (subtle celestial presence)","a king (listening, at a respectful distance)"],"setting":"River ghat with steps, a small shrine lamp, and a quiet royal retinue kept unobtrusive.","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["sunrise saffron","pearl white","river teal","marigold gold","deep indigo"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: river-ghat snāna scene with the brāhmaṇa in white garments, mala in hand, a small Vishnu shrine with gold leaf halo; the king ‘rājendra’ shown respectfully; rich reds/greens, ornate borders, gold leaf for the ascending Vaishnava path in the sky.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: serene dawn on a riverbank, delicate ripples, brāhmaṇa seated for japa, king listening under a canopy; cool pastel sky, refined faces, lyrical trees and distant hills.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: stylized ghat steps, bold outlines, brāhmaṇa with large expressive eyes, Vishnu’s presence as a radiant emblem above; warm red/yellow/green pigments, temple-wall composition.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: riverbank framed by lotus borders; central japa figure with a luminous Vaikuṇṭha arch above; intricate floral motifs, deep blues and gold, peacocks near the water’s edge."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"devotional","suggested_raga":"Bhairavi","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"reverent-soft","sound_elements":["flowing water","morning birds","temple bell at ghat","soft conch at sunrise"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: राजेन्द्र = राजन् + इन्द्र; गतिदायकम् = गति + दायकम्; त्रिकालम्/एककालम् used adverbially as avyayībhāva; स्नातः is kta-kr̥danta from √स्ना.

FAQs

It recommends japa (repetition of a sacred mantra) after bathing, ideally three times daily (trikāla), but states that even once daily (ekakāla) is meritorious.

It refers to a Vaiṣṇava state/realm or spiritually Vaiṣṇava attainment described as “bestowing the (highest) destination,” presented in the verse as connected with reaching svarga.

Regular discipline in purity (snāna) and remembrance (japa) is upheld as a reliable path to spiritual merit, with flexibility that encourages consistent practice even if performed only once daily.
