The king

Concept: Auspicious speech and right request: the devotee asks Bhagavan to actualize the promised efficacy (saphalatā) of sacred recitation for the world’s benefit.

Application: When adopting a spiritual practice, ask for steadiness and fruition—‘may this sādhana become effective in me’—and then persist.

Primary Rasa: vira

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"After hearing Hari’s auspicious words, the king rises slightly from his kneel, eyes bright with faith, and addresses Keśava with a firm yet humble request: let this hymn become truly fruitful. The air feels charged—like a vow being sealed—between royal authority and devotional surrender.","primary_figures":["Rājā","Keśava (Hari/Viṣṇu)"],"setting":"A sanctified court with a visible stotra manuscript on a stand, incense curling upward, and attendants holding fly-whisks at a respectful distance.","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["royal blue","burnished gold","vermillion","jade green","pearl white"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Keśava with gold leaf halo and ornate crown; the king in rich garments gestures in respectful petition; manuscript stand and lamps rendered with embossed gold; deep reds/greens, gem-like detailing, traditional South Indian composition with arch and lotus motifs.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: intimate dialogue scene with delicate expressions; Keśava calm and luminous, the king earnest; soft architectural lines, floral carpet, cool blues and warm vermillion accents; refined brushwork and gentle spatial depth.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: symmetrical panel with Keśava central, king to the side in añjali and half-risen posture; bold outlines, yellow aura, red-green costume blocks; stylized lamps and lotus borders like temple murals.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: Keśava framed by lotus vines and ornate borders; the king at the lower register offering a manuscript/garland; deep blues and gold, intricate floral patterns, devotional emphasis over courtly realism."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"narrative","suggested_raga":"Durga","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"authoritative","sound_elements":["single bell strike","soft mridang pulse (distant)","court silence","incense crackle"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: केशवमब्रवीत् = केशवम् + अब्रवीत्. उक्ते treated as locative absolute with वाक्ये (एवम् उक्ते शुभे वाक्ये).

FAQs

The king asks Keśava (Viṣṇu) to make the hymn (stotra) “saphala”—i.e., to grant it efficacy and visible spiritual results.

It portrays devotion as a direct personal appeal to the Lord—addressing Keśava and seeking divine grace so that praise and prayer yield transformative fruit.

Merit and spiritual benefit are not treated as mechanical outcomes; the verse implies humility and dependence on divine sanction—seeking that one’s devotion be made effective through God’s will.
