सूत उवाच । चरित्रं तस्य वेनस्य वैन्यस्यापि महात्मनः । प्रवक्ष्यामि सुपुण्यं च यथान्यायं श्रुतं पुरा

సూతుడు పలికెను—వేనుని, అలాగే మహాత్ముడైన వైన్యుడు (పృథు) యొక్క అత్యంత పుణ్యకరమైన చరిత్రను, పూర్వం వినిన ప్రకారమే యథావిధిగా నేను వివరిస్తాను।
