FAQs

Sudhanvan, described as the son of Vairāja, is installed as the king and Dikpāla (guardian) of the eastern direction.

Diśaḥpāla (Dikpāla) refers to a directional guardian—an appointed cosmic ruler responsible for protecting and governing a specific quarter of space.

It reflects Purāṇic cosmology and sacred polity: the ordered installation of rulers for the quarters, linking kingship with cosmic guardianship and ritual consecration (abhiṣeka).
