Unspecified (addressing a woman as 'bhadre')

Concept: When buddhi is misled, the inner self runs after saṃskāras; past-life impressions propel repeated tendencies.

Application: Notice recurring impulses as saṃskāra-patterns; counter them with a fixed daily rule (niyama): japa, Tulasi watering, Ekādaśī restraint, and mindful choice before action.

Primary Rasa: karuna

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A woman-disciple sits before a sage; behind her, translucent silhouettes of past-life scenes swirl like a dream-mandala—markets, battles, pleasures—pulling at her mind as threads. The sage points toward a calm inner lamp at her heart, symbolizing buddhi reclaimed from distraction.","primary_figures":["Teaching sage","Woman-disciple (bhadre)","Personified Saṃskāras (shadowy forms)"],"setting":"Forest āśrama with a small fire altar; the background dissolves into a circular ‘memory vortex’ of faint scenes.","lighting_mood":"forest dappled","color_palette":["ash gray","deep indigo","sandalwood beige","flame orange","leaf green"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: sage instructing a seated woman, with a gold-leaf circular halo behind them containing miniature vignettes of past-life impressions; ornate arch, rich maroon and green textiles, gem-like highlights, a small golden lamp at the woman’s heart area to show buddhi’s return to clarity.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: refined sage and disciple under a tree, delicate lines showing a swirling mandala of faint narrative scenes in the sky; cool blues and soft greens, gentle melancholy, lyrical composition with a stream nearby symbolizing flowing vāsanā.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines, stylized faces; a large circular motif behind the disciple filled with simplified icon-scenes representing vāsanā; warm red-yellow-green palette, ritual fire glowing, didactic gesture of the guru emphasized.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central circular ‘saṃskāra-chakra’ bordered with floral vines; within, small repeated motifs (dice, wine cup, sword, coin) as tendencies; at the bottom, a devotee offers a mālā before a small Vishnu emblem, deep blue ground with gold detailing."}

FAQs

It teaches that when discernment (buddhi) is distorted, the inner self becomes restless and is pulled by past-life impressions (vāsanā-s), repeatedly running toward habitual objects and tendencies.

It implies continuity across births: impressions accumulated previously persist and shape present impulses, suggesting that karmic conditioning influences the mind’s movements and choices.

Cultivate right discernment and mindful restraint; otherwise, old habits and latent impressions will dominate behavior, causing repeated chasing of the same attachments.
