Narada (contextual narration within the Narada Purana dialogue tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhayanaka
Secondary Rasa: vira
It marks a turning point in Kali-yuga: as degradation intensifies on earth, a powerful force/figure becomes openly manifest and gains sweeping influence—highlighting the urgency of dharma and spiritual refuge.
By stressing the dreadfulness of Kali’s advance and mass susceptibility, the verse indirectly supports the Purāṇic remedy: steady Vishnu-bhakti as the stabilizing refuge when collective discernment weakens.
The verse uses time-division logic (a “quarter” of Kali), aligning with Jyotiṣa-style yuga/kalā reckoning—practically, it signals reading historical-spiritual periods as indicators for intensified sādhana and vrata discipline.
