FAQs

It frames a sacred-geographical setting: the vast, wave-filled salt ocean at the shoreline, a typical marker used in Tirtha-Mahatmya passages to establish the sanctity and awe of the place where pilgrimage, bathing, and worship bear merit.

Indirectly, it supports Bhakti by situating the listener in a holy landscape; in the Narada Purana, such descriptions commonly serve as the backdrop for acts like snāna, dāna, and Hari-pūjā performed with devotion, which then become spiritually fruitful.

No specific Vedanga is taught in this verse; it is primarily descriptive (tirtha/cosmography). Practically, it cues pilgrimage observances (snāna at coastal tirthas) rather than technical disciplines like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa.
