इति श्रीमार्कण्डेयपुराणेऽथ सावर्णिके मन्वन्तरे देविमाहात्म्ये पञ्चाशोत्तमोध्यायः ।

षडशीतितमोऽध्यायः- ८६ ।

ऋषिरुवाच इत्याकर्ण्य वचो देव्याः स दूतोऽमर्षपूरितः ।

समाचष्ट समागम्य दैत्यराजाय विस्तरात् ॥

iti śrīmārkaṇḍeyapurāṇe 'tha sāvarṇike manvantare devīmāhātmye pañcāśottamo 'dhyāyaḥ | ṣaḍaśītitamo 'dhyāyaḥ—86 | ṛṣir uvāca ityākarṇya vaco devyāḥ sa dūto 'marṣapūritaḥ | samācaṣṭa samāgamya daityarājāya vistarāt ||

ఋషి పలికాడు—దేవి వాక్యాలను విని ఆ దూత కోపంతో నిండిపోయి, వెళ్లి దైత్యరాజుకు ఆ సంగతులన్నిటిని విపులంగా నివేదించాడు.
