देव्युवाच एवमेतद् बली शुम्भो निशुम्भश्चातिवीर्यवान् ।

किं करोमि प्रतिज्ञा मे यदनालोचिता पुरा ॥

devyuvāca evam etad balī śumbho niśumbhaś cātivīryavān | kiṃ karomi pratijñā me yadanālocitā purā ||

దేవి పలికింది—అవును, అలాగే; శుంభుడు బలవంతుడు, నిశుంభుడు అత్యంత మహాబలశాలి. నేను ఏమి చేయగలను? ముందుగా నేను ఆలోచించకుండా ఒక వ్రతసంకల్పం చేసుకున్నాను.
