Adhyaya 69 — The King’s Neglect of His Wife and the Restoration of Dharma

पक्षेण कर्मणो हान्या प्रयात्यस्पर्शतां नरः ।

विण्मूत्रैर्वार्षिकी यस्य हानिस्ते नित्यकर्मणः ॥

Transliteration

pakṣeṇa karmaṇo hānyā prayāty asparśatāṃ naraḥ | viṇ-mūtrair vārṣikī yasya hānis te nitya-karmaṇaḥ ||

Translation

పదిహేను రోజులు విధినిర్దిష్ట నిత్యకర్మలు లుప్తమైతే మనిషి అస్పృశ్యత (ఆచార అశౌచం)లో పడతాడు. ఎవరి శుద్ధి సంవత్సరానికి ఒక్కసారి మాత్రమే మలమూత్రాలతోనో అనబడుతుందో, వారికి ఇది నిత్యధర్మాల నాశమే.
