The verse elevates mind (manas) and contemplation (dhyāna) as creative forces: consciousness shapes experience and even ‘birth’ in subtle phases. It suggests a hierarchy where mental purity precedes gross biological process.
Sarga, with a philosophical (tattva) coloration: it links creation to the arising of sense-objects (viṣayas) and modes of generation (mind-born vs. sexual).
‘Śabdādi viṣayāḥ’ points to the tanmātra/sense-field emergence; ‘pañcalakṣaṇa’ can be read as the fivefold sensory structure that binds jīvas to experience. Purity (śuddha) hints at an early, less-materially mixed state of the elements/objects.
