श्मशानाभिमुख: प्रायाद् यत्र ते कीचका गता: । स लड्घयित्वा प्राकारं नि:सृत्य च पुरोत्तमात् | जवेन पतितो भीम: सूतानामग्रतस्तदा,तत्पश्चात् वे उपकीचक जिधर गये थे, उसी ओर भीमसेन भी श्मशानभूमिकी दिशामें चल दिये। चहारदीवारी लाँघनेके पश्चात् उस श्रेष्ठ नगरसे निकलकर भीमसेन इतने वेगसे चले कि सूतपुत्रोंसे पहले ही वहाँ पहुँच गये
śmaśānābhimukhaḥ prāyād yatra te kīcakā gatāḥ | sa laṅghayitvā prākāraṃ niḥsṛtya ca purottamāt | javena patito bhīmaḥ sūtānām agratas tadā ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—ఆ కీచకులు వెళ్లిన దిశలోనే భీముడు శ్మశానాభిముఖంగా బయలుదేరెను. ప్రాకారాన్ని లంఘించి ఆ ఉత్తమ నగరము నుండి బయటికి వచ్చి, అతడు అంత వేగంగా పరుగెత్తెను గనుక సూతపుత్రులకంటే ముందే అక్కడికి చేరెను।
