Educational Q&A

Even justified complaint should be voiced with self-awareness and restraint: Draupadī frames her words as arising from grief, asking that they not be treated as blameworthy. The verse highlights ethical speech—acknowledging emotion while guarding against unfair censure.

In the Virāṭa episode, Draupadī begins a lament before Bhīma, introducing a painful matter she intends to disclose. She prefaces it by requesting that Bhīma not fault her, since her speech is driven by intense sorrow.
