Educational Q&A

Association with sanctified places and sage-honored traditions supports moral purification: a sincere ritual bath at a revered tīrtha is presented as a means to be freed from accumulated wrongdoing and to renew one’s commitment to dharma.

A speaker (Ghūlastya) instructs a king about a particular pilgrimage site—Auddālaka-tīrtha—praising it as frequented by sages and stating the spiritual benefit of bathing there: release from sins.
