Nala’s Embassy to Damayantī and the Gods’ Proposal (नलस्य दूतत्वं देवप्रस्तावश्च)
तुम तो देवतुल्य पराक्रमी वीर भाइयोंसे घिरे हुए हो। ब्रह्माजीके समान तेजस्वी श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मण तुम्हारे चारों ओर बैठे हुए हैं। अतः तुम्हें शोक नहीं करना चाहिये ।।
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca |
tvaṃ tu devatulyaparākramīra-bhrātṛbhiḥ parivṛto 'si | brahmaṇā iva tejasvī śreṣṭhā brāhmaṇās tava samantata upaviṣṭāḥ | ataḥ śokaṃ na kartavyam ||
vistareṇāham icchāmi nalasya sumahātmanaḥ | caritaṃ vadatāṃ śreṣṭha tan mamākhyātum arhasi ||
యుధిష్ఠిరుడు పలికెను—వక్తలలో శ్రేష్ఠుడవైన మునీ! మహాత్ముడైన రాజు నలుని చరిత్రను నేను విస్తారంగా వినదలచుకున్నాను. దయచేసి అది నాకు వివరించుము.
