तस्या: कौतूहलं त्वासीन्मन्त्रं प्रति नराधिप । आह्वानमकरोत् साथ तस्य देवस्य भाविनी,नरेश्वर! उन्हें देखकर कुन्तीके मनमें अपने मन्त्रकी शक्तिकी परीक्षा करनेके लिये कौतूहल पैदा हुआ। तब उस सुन्दरी राजकन्याने सूर्यदेवका आवाहन किया
tasyāḥ kautūhalaṃ tv āsīn mantraṃ prati narādhipa | āhvānam akarot sātha tasya devasya bhāvinī ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—ఓ నరాధిపా! కుంతీ హృదయంలో తన మంత్రబలముపై కుతూహలం కలిగింది. దాని ప్రభావాన్ని పరీక్షించదలచి ఆ మహనీయ రాజకన్య అప్పుడు సూర్యదేవుని ఆహ్వానించింది.
