तवाभिसंधि: सुभगे सूर्यात् पुत्रो भवेदिति | वीर्येणाप्रतिमो लोके कवची कुण्डलीति च,सुभगे! तुम्हारे मनमें यह संकल्प उठा था कि 'सूर्यदेवसे मुझे एक ऐसा पुत्र प्राप्त हो, जो संसारमें अनुपम पराक्रमी तथा जन्मसे ही दिव्य कवच एवं कुण्डलोंसे सुशोभित हो'
tavābhisaṃdhiḥ subhage sūryāt putro bhaved iti | vīryeṇāpratimo loke kavacī kuṇḍalīti ca ||
సూర్యుడు అన్నాడు—“సుభగే! నీ అంతరంగ సంకల్పం ఇదే—‘సూర్యదేవుని ద్వారా నాకు లోకంలో వీర్యపరాక్రమంలో అపూర్వుడైన, జన్మతోనే దివ్య కవచకుండలాలతో అలంకృతుడైన కుమారుడు కలగాలి’ అని.”
