सूर्य उवाच गमिष्ये5हं यथा मां त्वं ब्रवीषि तनुमध्यमे । नतु देवं समाहूय न्याय्यं प्रेषयितुं वृथा,सूर्यने कहा--तनुमध्यमे! जैसा तुम कह रही हो उसके अनुसार मैं चला तो जाऊँगा ही; परंतु किसी देवताको बुलाकर उसे व्यर्थ लौटा देना न्यायकी बात नहीं है

Transliteration

sūrya uvāca: gamiṣye'haṃ yathā māṃ tvaṃ bravīṣi tanumadhyame | na tu devaṃ samāhūya nyāyyaṃ preṣayituṃ vṛthā ||

Translation

సూర్యుడు అన్నాడు—“తనుమధ్యమే! నీవు చెప్పినట్లే నేను వెళ్లిపోతాను; కానీ దేవుణ్ణి పిలిచి వృథాగా తిరిగి పంపడం న్యాయముకాదు.”

What is the core teaching?

Even when one agrees to comply, dharma requires propriety: it is unjust to summon a divine being (or any honored guest) and then dismiss them pointlessly. The verse highlights ethical restraint and respect for the dignity of the summoned.
