अयं तपस्वी भगवान् स्वाध्यायनियतो द्विज: । यद् यद् ब्रूयान्महातेजास्तत्तद् देयममत्सरात्,'ये विप्रवर महातेजस्वी, तपस्वी, ऐश्वर्यशशाली तथा नियमपूर्वक वेदोंके स्वाध्यायमें संलग्न रहनेवाले हैं। ये जिस-जिस वस्तुके लिये कहें, वह सब इन्हें ईर्ष्यारहित हो श्रद्धाके साथ देना
ayaṁ tapasvī bhagavān svādhyāya-niyato dvijaḥ | yad yad brūyān mahātejās tat tad deyam amatsarāt ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—ఈ పూజ్య ద్విజుడు తపస్వి, వేదస్వాధ్యాయ నియమంలో స్థిరుడు. ఈ మహాతేజస్సు గలవాడు ఏది ఏది కోరునో, అది అది అసూయ లేకుండా, శుద్ధ హృదయంతో ఇవ్వవలెను.
