विवस्वतस्त्वं तनय: प्रतापवां- स्ततो हि वैवस्वत उच्यसे बुध: । समेन धर्मेण चरन्ति ता: प्रजा- स्ततस्तवेहेश्वर धर्मराजता

Transliteration

vivasvatas tvaṃ tanayaḥ pratāpavān

tato hi vaivasvata ucyase budhaḥ |

samena dharmeṇa caranti tāḥ prajāḥ

tatas taveheśvara dharmarājatā ||

Translation

సావిత్రి పలికెను—దేవేశ్వరా! మీరు వివస్వాన్‌ (సూర్యుడు) యొక్క ప్రతాపవంతుడైన కుమారుడు; అందువల్ల జ్ఞానులు మిమ్మును ‘వైవస్వతుడు’ అని పిలుస్తారు. మీరు సమస్త ప్రజల పట్ల సమభావంతో ధర్మానుసారంగా వ్యవహరిస్తారు; అందుకే మీరు ‘ధర్మరాజు’గా ప్రసిద్ధి చెందారు.
