प्रच्छाद्य पृथिवीं तस्थु: सर्वमायोधन प्रति । शरीराण्यशिरस्कानि विदेहानि शिरांसि च
pracchādya pṛthivīṃ tasthuḥ sarvam āyodhanaṃ prati | śarīrāṇy aśiraskāni videhāni śirāṃsi ca
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను— భూమిని కప్పివేసినట్లు వారు సమస్త యుద్ధభూమి అంతటా పడి ఉండిరి. అక్కడ శిరస్సులేని దేహములు, దేహములేని శిరస్సులు విడివిడిగా పడి ఉండెను.
