आरुज्यारुज्य तौ वृक्षानन्योन्यमभिजषघ्नतु: । जीमूताविव गर्जन्तौ निनदन्तौ महाबलौ,दोनोंका बल महान् था। वे गर्जते हुए दो मेघोंकी भाँति सिंहनाद करके वृक्षोंकों तोड़- तोड़कर परस्पर चोट करते थे
ārūjyārūjya tau vṛkṣān anyonyam abhijaṣaghnatuḥ | jīmūtāv iva garjantau ninadantau mahābalau ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—అపారబలశాలులైన ఆ ఇద్దరూ చెట్లను విరిచివిరిచి వాటితో పరస్పరం కొట్టుకున్నారు. రెండు గర్జించే మేఘాలవలె ఉరుములాంటి నినాదాలు చేస్తూ, యుద్ధఘోషతో అడవిని మార్మోగించారు.
