Udyoga Parva Adhyaya 133 — A Mother’s Counsel to Saṃjaya

यदा मां चैव भार्या च द्रष्टासि भृशदुर्बलाम्‌ | न तदा जीवितेनार्थो भविता तव संजय,संजय! अब जिस समय तू मुझे और अपनी पत्नीको चिन्ताके कारण अत्यन्त दुर्बल देखेगा, उस समय तुझे जीवित रहनेकी इच्छा नहीं होगी

yadā māṁ caiva bhāryā ca draṣṭāsi bhṛśa-durbalām | na tadā jīvitena artho bhavitā tava sañjaya sañjaya ||

సంజయా! నన్ను మరియు నీ భార్యను కూడా చింతవల్ల అత్యంత క్షీణించి బలహీనులమై ఉన్నట్లు నీవు చూసే వేళ, నీకు జీవితం కూడా విలువలేనిదిగా తోచుతుంది।
