वक्तुमिच्छामि तु सखे यथा जानासि मां पुरा । न तथा वित्तवानस्मि क्षीणं वित्तं च मे सखे,'सखे! फिर भी मैं एक बात कहना चाहता हूँ। आप पहलेसे मुझे जैसा धनवान्‌ समझते हैं, वैसा धनसम्पन्न अब मैं नहीं रह गया हूँ। मित्र! मेरा वैभव इन दिनों क्षीण हो गया है

Transliteration

vaktum icchāmi tu sakhe yathā jānāsi māṃ purā | na tathā vittavān asmi kṣīṇaṃ vittaṃ ca me sakhe ||

Translation

సఖా! నేను ఒక మాట చెప్పదలచుకున్నాను. నీవు నన్ను పూర్వం ధనవంతుడిగా ఎలా తెలిసికొన్నావో, ఇప్పుడు నేను అలా లేను; మిత్రమా, ఈ మధ్య నా సంపద క్షీణించింది.
